Friday Poem: Agelast

This is one in a series of poems I’ve been writing that are based on odd words (mostly from Merriam-Webster’s New International Unabridged, 2nd Edition, if anyone’s counting).

  1. Omigod I actually know an agelast! Who does have some influence over our project. And I have a meeting with him on Tuesday! In previous encounters I could not figure out how anyone could be so stone-faced humorless. I still don’t, but at least I now know there’s a word for people like him.

  2. I’m so glad I have led you to this handy term. As soon as I saw the word, I thought, “This is a concept that deserves to be better known.” Your note is exactly the response I was hoping for. Thanks for making my day!
